Removal and installation of heads of cylinders

Before getting to work, wait for final cooling of the engine.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

2. Empty the cooling system, including the engine block (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car).
3. Remove the delivery camera of an air highway, fuel highways and injectors (see the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases).
4. Remove final collectors (see the Section Removal and installation of final collectors).
5. Remove the generator (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine).
6. Remove the inlet pipeline (see the Section Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline).
7. Take off a GRM drive belt, cogwheels and the top intermediate roller (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of a gas-distributing belt and cogwheels of the GRM drive). Remove the SMR sensor.
8. Remove the top (No. 3) cover of the GRM drive.
9. Take from the corresponding head camshafts (see the Section Replacement of a Forward Epiploon(s) of a Cranked Shaft / Camshafts).
10. Working in strictly certain order (address an accompanying illustration), in stages (on 1/4 turns for approach) weaken 10 bolts of fastening of one head of cylinders so that the possibility of their reversing manually appeared. Then perform the same operation on other head. Remove 20 bolts together with washers, trying not to drop them.
11. Remove heads of cylinders together with final collectors from the directing plugs of the block of the engine and lay them on wooden whetstones on a workbench. In case of need tap it for office the hammer through wooden whetstone or hook a head the lever in the specified place (address paragraph 10 illustration).

Do not hook the "stuck" head the lever under the interfaced surface at all!

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Carefully smooth out the interfaced surfaces. Having scratched out the remains of material build laying and coal deposits, wipe surfaces with the rags moistened in acetone. Existence on the interfaced surfaces of traces of oil at the time of installation of a head can lead to violation of tightness of landing of laying and, as a result, development of leaks. Processing the block, a zakuporta of an opening of cylinders rags in order to avoid hit in them small garbage and various foreign objects (as a last resort, carefully vacuum cylinders).
2. Check the interfaced surfaces of heads and the block for existence of deep scratches, zadir and other damages. Any defects are eliminated by a pro-point, do not try to restore surfaces by means of a file or an emery paper. By means of a steel line and a set of flat probes check not planeness a surface of a head of cylinders (address an accompanying illustration).
3. A tap of the suitable size banish carving openings under bolts of fastening of heads. Having finished a pro-race, blow openings compressed air.

During the work with the reaped air do not forget to put on goggles!

For the purpose of a carving clearing from corrosion and restoration of the damaged rounds clamp fixing bolts for heads in a vice with soft sponges, banish them a lerka of the corresponding size.
4. Lay new sealing laying, putting on them the directing pins in the block. In a back part of laying there are tags for their identification: 2UL (left) or 2UR (right).

Stack laying by marking up, do not mix laying of a forward head with laying back.

5. Measure diameter of bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders at distance of 75 - 85 mm from their head and compare it to requirements of Specifications. If necessary use new bolts. Grease a carving and the lower surfaces of heads of fixing bolts with pure motive oil. Put on washer bolts.
6. Screw bolts on the former places and tighten them by hand. Working strictly as it should be, the return shown on an illustration to paragraph 10 (Removal), tighten bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders with the required effort in three stages: at first with effort of 32 Nanometers, then tighten all bolts on 90 °, and in conclusion – for 90 °.
7. Installation of the remained components is made as it should be, the return to an order of their dismantle.
8. Fill the cooling system and replace an oil filter (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car).
9. Start the engine and check it for existence of signs of development of leaks (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car).
