Removal and installation of the pallet of a case of the engine

On all-wheel drive cars it is necessary to dismantle previously power shafts and assembly of forward differential, – it is usually simpler to remove the engine.

Removal

Details of installation of the pallet of a case and oil pump

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Elements of installation of the pallet of a case of the engine and oil pump are shown on an illustration above.
2. Remove the engine from the car and install it on the suitable stand.
3. Remove the probe of measurement of level of motive oil.
4. Merge motive oil and remove an oil filter (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car).
5. Give 24 bolts and two nuts of fastening of the pallet of a case then separate it from the engine block, in case of need having accurately hooked it the small screw-driver or the pallet

try not to damage the interfaced surfaces.
6. Give 7 bolts and two nuts of fastening of the damping plate and remove it.
7. Give 18 bolts and two nuts of fastening of the top part of the pallet and remove it.

The top part of the pallet of a case fastens bolts of different length do not mix them at installation! On perimeter of the pallet there are several inflows against which it is possible to rest the lever at separation of the pallet from the block. Try not to damage the interfaced surfaces.

8. If necessary remove a maslozabornik with laying.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Accurately scratch out all traces of sealant and material of old laying from the interfaced surfaces of the pallet and block. Carefully wipe the interfaced surfaces with the rags moistened in acetone. Clean a carving of deaf bolted openings in aluminum casting of the block.
2. Check a flange of stamped section of the pallet for existence of signs of deformation, in case of need make the corresponding rikhtovka.
3. Check a condition of the mesh filter of a maslozabornik, wash out solvent a maslozaborny tube, replace sealing laying, install assembly of a maslozabornik on the engine and with the required effort tighten fixing bolts.
4. If removed, establish into place a maslozabornik with new laying, tightening bolts of his fastening with the required effort.

5. Impose the roller of RTV sealant 2 - 3 mm thick on the specified surfaces (address an accompanying illustration).

6. Accurately press the pallet to the block of the engine and screw fixing bolts (address an accompanying illustration). Make sure that between the back ends of the top part of the pallet and block of the engine there is a gap not less than 0.2 mm. Moving from the center outside, in three-four receptions tighten fixture with the required efforts.

7. Further installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components. Tighten fixture with the required effort. Do not forget to replace the filter and to add oil.
8. Start the engine and check the pallet for existence of signs of development of leaks. Check also oil pressure.
