Elements of installation of a radiator

|
1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
|
|
If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action! |
2. Empty the cooling system (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car). If replacement of cooling liquid was made recently, keep for further use (see the prevention in the Section Antifreeze – general information). At the corresponding complete set remove the case pallet.
3. Release collars and disconnect the top and lower hoses from a radiator (address an illustration above).

If the hose "soured" and does not give in to removal, rotate it on a branch pipe big nippers, try not to damage the union. |
4. Disconnect an overflow hose from a radiator mouth.
5. Disconnect an air tube from the top part of a radiator.
6. Remove the cooling system fan assembled with the casing (see the Section Check of a State, removal and installation of the fan of the cooling system).
7. On models with AT disconnect ATF cooler hoses from a radiator, prepare for collecting the spilled liquid, at once a zakuporta the open ends of nipple knots.
8. In case of need remove the rechargeable battery and its adjusting pallet (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine).

On some models the radiator can be removed without preliminary dismantle of the battery. |
9. Remove a forward decorative lattice (see the Head Kuzov).
10. Turn out bolts of fastening of a radiator.
11. Remove a radiator, try not to spill cooling liquid and not to cut fingers about keen edges of plates of the heat exchanger.
12. After removal from the car the radiator can be checked for existence of signs of development of leaks, damages and violations of internal passability of the heat exchanger. Any repair has to be made only in the conditions of a specialized workshop with use of the necessary equipment.
13. Remains of insects and vegetation can be removed from space between heat exchanger plates by blowing by compressed air (do not forget to put on goggles!), or cleaning out by a soft brush. Try not to bend thin plates of the heat exchanger and not to cut about them fingers. Before installation the radiator has to be washed out by giving in water through a garden hose.
14. Installation is made upside-down. Track correctness of placement of a radiator on the support and reliability of tightening of fixture of all components.
15. On completion of installation fill in in system cooling liquid of the required structure (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car).
16. Start the engine and check it for existence of signs of leaks. Warm up the engine up to the normal working temperature (both hoses of a radiator have to become hot to the touch). Check the level of cooling liquid, in case of need add the corresponding amount of mix of the required structure.
17. On models with AT check the ATF level, in case of need execute the corresponding adjustment. |

Broad tank
|

1. On the majority of models to release a broad tank from the basic arm located in the neighbourhood with the battery it is rather simple to pull it up, do not forget to disconnect an overflow hose previously.
2. Merge cooling liquid in the prepared capacity, then examine tank walls on existence of cracks and other mechanical damages, in case of need make replacement.
3. Installation is made upside-down. |
