Check of serviceability of functioning and replacement of the block of the sensor of the measuring instrument of temperature of cooling liquid

Start implementation of the procedure only after full cooling of the engine! See also preventions at the beginning of the Section Antifreeze – general information. Remember that at the included ignition the fan of the cooling system can work even at the killed engine.

Check
|
|
1. At failure of the measuring instrument of temperature of cooling liquid first of all check a condition of the corresponding safety locks (see. Onboard electric equipment).
2. If the measuring instrument fixes an engine overheat, address the Section devoted to diagnostics of malfunctions of knots and systems of the car in Introduction to the present manual.
3. If at unambiguously cold engine the measuring instrument fixes an overheat, disconnect an electrical wiring from the measuring instrument sensor. If after a detachment of an electrical wiring of the indication of the measuring instrument fall, replace the sensor, otherwise it is necessary to check an electrical wiring on the site of a chain between the sensor and the measuring instrument for existence of signs of short circuit on weight.
4. If the measuring instrument at serviceable safety locks does not function at all (the arrow remains motionless even after 10-minute warming up of the engine), kill the engine and disconnect an electrical wiring from temperature sensor. By means of a wire crossing point close a sensor wire on weight. For a short time include ignition, without starting the engine, – if the arrow of the indicator deviates until the end of a scale, replace the sensor.

5. If the sensor does not react to connection in any way, check an electrical wiring for break. Also the probability of failure actually of the measuring instrument is not excluded. |

Replacement
|
|
1. Uncover the case of a throttle and a flange of an inlet air duct the throttle case. Then remove a throttle case flange from the inlet pipeline.
2. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor.
3. By means of a high face head turn out the old sensor from the block (prepare for collecting the spilled liquid).
4. Screw with the required effort to the place of the removed sensor new which carving previously grease with conducting sealant (not a teflon tape or the film FUM). Connect an electrical wiring.
5. Fill the cooling system and make sure of serviceability of functioning of the measuring instrument of temperature. |
