Replacement of an epiploon of the leading gear wheel of differential

Extraction of epiploons of the leading gear wheels back and forward differentials (model 4WD) is made in an identical manner.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Weaken nuts of fastening of back wheels. A car back also establish to Poddomkratta it on props. Prop up forward wheels antiretractable boots. Remove wheels, it is necessary for more exact measurement of a pretightness of the leading gear wheel.
2. Disconnect the driveshaft from differential (see the Section Removal and installation of the driveshaft), shift it aside and tie up a wire to frame elements.
3. By means of a dynamometer key measure torque of rotation (pretightness) of the leading gear wheel (address an accompanying illustration). Write down result of measurement.
4. By means of a chertilka or a center punch mark the provision from each other of an axis of a gear wheel, a fixing nut and a connecting flange.
5. Count quantity of open rounds of a carving from a face surface of a nut to a gear wheel axis cut, write down result.
6. Record a flange from a provorachivaniye by means of special adaptation, or having passed the big screw-driver throughout an opening of fastening of a collar of the cardan hinge and having jammed it under the arm located behind, a case stiffening rib, or tubular section of the bridge (address an accompanying illustration) and release a nut of the leading gear wheel.
7. Thaw a gear wheel nut.
8. Remove a connecting flange, in case of need use a stripper (address an accompanying illustration).

Do not try to hook a flange the lever at all, or to bring down him the hammer!

9. Take an old epiploon from the landing nest (address an accompanying illustration).
10. Grease sponges of a new epiploon with high-temperature lubricant and evenly begin to knock it in the landing nest. Track perpendicularity of landing of an epiploon, as a mandrel it is possible to use a face head of the suitable size, or a piece of a pipe of the corresponding diameter (address an accompanying illustration).
11. Having achieved combination of the components of landing tags put in the course of dismantle, establish into place a connecting flange, – in case of need tighten a flange a nut, but not its zastukivayta into place the hammer at all.
12. Grease with noncongealable sealant vents in the center of a flange.
13. Establish a washer (if it is provided) and carefully tighten a nut so that the axis of a gear wheel acted over its face surface on the quantity of rounds of a carving noticed earlier (see paragraph 5).
14. Measure torque of rotation of a gear wheel, then tighten a nut for compensation of the changes connected with installation of a new epiploon a little more, the torque has to be a little (but no more than on 0.6 Nanometers) more than at an old epiploon.
15. Connect the driveshaft, establish to the place of a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten wheel nuts with the required effort (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car).
