Removal and installation of supports of disk brake mechanisms

Remember that the dust produced in the course of operation of brake mechanisms may contain extremely unhealthy asbestos of the person. Do not blow off dust compressed air at all and do not inhale it, at service of mechanisms put on a protective mask or a respirator. Do not use for rubbing of components of the brake system gasoline or solvents on an oil basis at all, apply only company cleaners or methyl alcohol!

Supports of both brake mechanisms of one axis have to change at the same time. Remember that at company car repair shops Toyota it is always possible to order the restored assemblies of brake supports on an exchange basis.

1. Weaken nuts of fastening of forward wheels. A car front also establish to Poddomkratta it on props. Cock a parking brake / prop up antiretractable boots the wheels standing on the earth. Remove wheels.
2. Pump out about 2/3 brake fluids from the GTTs tank, at push-up of pistons level liquid can begin to be forced out from the tank. Get drain capacity under assembly of the brake mechanism and process a surface of the last a special cleaner. 3. Give a cap nipple nut and disconnect the brake line from a support (address an accompanying illustration). |

4. Turn out bolts of fastening of a support (address an accompanying illustration). If the support does not manage to be removed from a brake disk, therefore, blocks cling to the fillet formed on limit of wear of a disk, remove blocks (see the Section Replacement of Brake Shoes). |
5. If the removed support is subject to further use, carefully wash out it in the special cleaning liquid, do not use kerosene and other oil products for washing of components of the brake mechanism at all! Attentively check a condition of a support, in case of need make its replacement.
6. Establish a support on the regular place and tighten fixing bolts with the required effort.
7. Connect a brake hose to a support (do not forget to replace sealing washers). Strongly tighten a cap nut of nipple connection.
8. If disconnected a brake hose, pump over the corresponding brake contour (see the Section Pumping of the Brake System).
9. Establish to the place of a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten wheel nuts with the required effort (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car). Before starting operation of the vehicle make sure of serviceability of functioning of the brake system. |
