Removal, installation and adjustment of provision of a cowl

Removal and installation

The panel of a cowl has the decent weight therefore it is necessary to get support of the assistant.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Open a cowl, then cover wings with special overlays or just old blankets for protection them from damage to process of dismantle of the panel.
2. Disconnect all cables and wires preventing removal of a cowl. Also disconnect brought to the nozzles of a tube of supply of liquid of washing of a windshield fixed in a cowl.
3. A marker or a chertilka lead round loopy levels for a guarantee of correctness of fastening of a cowl at assembly.
4. Ask the assistant to take a cowl and give bolts of fastening of loopy levels.
5. Installation is made upside-down. At installation to the place of an old cowl track that loopy levels were established taking into account the tags put in the course of dismantle (see paragraph 3). If replacement of a cowl is made, it is necessary to make adjustment of its situation (see below).

Adjustment

After adjustment of a cowl its given conical bolts need to be replaced with new.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Adjustment of provision of a cowl in an aperture of a motive compartment is made by shift in the relevant party of loopy levels after weakening of their fixture (address an accompanying illustration).

If at manufacturer the self-centering bolts which are not allowing a possibility of carrying out similar adjustment are applied to fastening of levels, such fixture should be replaced with bolts of standard type, without having forgotten to equip them with flat and lock washers.

2. Adjustment of height of a first line of a cowl is made by a reversing or a wraparound of rubber support so that the edge of a cowl was flush with wings (address an accompanying illustration).

3. Height of the rear edge of a cowl is regulated if to weaken four screws of fastening of loops to a partition of a motive compartment.

4. Updating of the provision of assembly of a latch of the lock of a cowl on a basic plate of a radiator can be in case of need executed (in the vertical and horizontal planes), the cowl has to be closed densely and fall aflush with the surfaces of wings (address an accompanying illustration). For adjustment of the lock lead round heads of bolts of fastening of assembly of a latch a marker or a chertilka, then weaken bolts and displace a latch in the required direction. Upon completion of adjustment strongly tighten fixing bolts.

5. Assembly of a latch of the lock of a cowl has to periodically (along with loops, see the Section Service of Loops and Locks of the Car) to be processed by lubricant on a lithium basis in order to avoid jammings and premature wear of components.
